DRRI advocates for people with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) through its Protection & Advocacy for Individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (PATBI) program. A TBI is a brain injury from a blow to the head, a shaking injury, or other external cause.
How DRRI Can Help You
DRRI can advocate for improved access to high quality health care services and educational programs. These services may include:
- Employment services from the Office of Rehabilitation Services.
- Independent Living Services.
- Assistive Technology.
- Home- and community-based services.
- Education services (including school-to-adult transition planning and services).
- Adequate mental health treatment.
- Access to services in correctional facilities.
DRRI can advocate for support and accommodations you may need. DRRI can advocate for:
- Support and accommodations at work.
- Housing accommodations.
- Accommodations from the government, health care providers, schools, colleges, or testing services.
- Support and accommodations for voting.
- Social Security Administration overpayments.
- Preventing guardianship.
- Problems getting out of hospitals, nursing homes, or other facilities.
